We Won’t Be Coming Back This Way Again!

The officer at the Canadian border crossing in Sumas, Washington, questioned us with the usual…Where are you going? How long will you be in Canada? When will you return? Our answer to the latter was, “We won’t be coming back again.” That’s when reality struck. I expected it to come when the packers were packing, or when the movers were moving, or maybe when saying goodbye to our family…especially the little ones…but still reality was out there somewhere.

But now, after 1,400 miles have passed under our van’s tires, I’m beginning to feel it, and I don’t know what to think. The whispy clouds hanging low over the beautiful Canadian Rockies add their whispers to my melancholic thoughts of “what are we doing?”

Following God’s call would be the expected (and most likely correct) answer. But how can we be certain of that call? I guess it’s more a feeling inside that things will be o.k. The clouds will lift, the sun will shine, and God’s plan will be revealed for and in all His glory!
